From my experience I think that Salento is one of the most beautiful villages in the coffee axis, in this place you can see a beautiful landscape, characterized by its diversity of plants, flowers ... etc. Additionally the town is characterized by the style of the constructions and its beautiful colors.
I will always remember Salento for his kind, warm people; where you drink good coffee, infusions of a wide variety of fruits, where horseback riding and ecological walks are made towards the Cocora Valley

Coffee culture

The culture in this region has its origin in the "Antioquia colonization", the people of this region stand out for their entrepreneurial spirit, industriousness and kindness. With the coffee activity, a set of traditions and manifestations that are crazy, regional and national pride have been consolidated:

- Crafts: among which some related to the coffee culture stand out, such as the Aguadeño hat and the baskets or baskets of Filandia, the guadua products of several municipalities of Quindío, or those of fique in Aranzazu.

-The gastronomy: represented by the paisa or mountaineering food and that is characterized by its quantity, ways of preparation, presentation, color and aesthetics.

-The myths and legends: such as Madremonte, Patasola, Hojarasquín del Monte and Mohán, refer to spirits or manifestations related to the devil, and are part of the oral tradition of the inhabitants.

-The Willys or yipao: American vehicle of the forties, which is still used massively in the region to transport coffee and passengers.

-Juan Valdez: It is an icon that identifies Colombian coffee growers in the world and was created by the Federation in 1959 to promote the origin of coffee.

-The typical costumes: The typical costumes with their hat, poncho, ruana and carriel.
